Kadhalil Vizhunthen Movie Review

'Kadhalil Vizhunthen', the first movie to be distributed by Sun Pictures, will storm theaters this week-end.

The movie, directed by debutant director P. V. Prasath features 'Boys' fame Nakul and debutante Sunaina in lead roles. The movie has musical score by Vijay Anthony, cinematography by S D Vijay Milton, editing by V T Vijayan and is produced by Umapathy for Atlantic Cinemas.

The peppy number 'Nakku Mukka' has already topped the audio charts and is expected to bring in audiences for the film.

The film was recently censored and this romance filled action entertainer has been given a 'UA' certificate.It is notable to mention that this film has been popularized tremendously by Sun Pictures using their sister-company Sun Network with promos that have been repeatedly aired on their television channels.

Wrestler Sushil Kumar

Wrestler Sushil Kumar on Wednesday brought further international glory to India by winning the bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics after 56 years.

He won the medal in the men's 66 kilograms freestyle category, defeating Leonid Speiridonov of Kazakhistan.Khashaba Jadhav of Karad, Maharashtra, was the last Indian wrestler to win an individual bronze in the Helsinki Olympics in 1952.Though Sushil Kumar went down in the opening round against a dominant Ukrainian Andriy Stadnik, he won the bronze medal on technical points,Earlier, Sushil Kumar was pegged down 3-8 on technical points.

In recognition of his achievement, the Railways announced an award of Rs.55 lakh plus a promotion. The Government of Delhi, the city from where Kumar hails, announced an award of Rs.50 lakh. The Central Government announced an award of Rs.25 lakh, while the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs announced a reward amount of Rs.20 lakh. The Government of Haryana announced an award of Rs.25 lakh.

This is India's second medal in the on going Olympics after shooter Abhinav Bindra's individual Gold medal in a 10 metre rifle shoot.

Story Review

Jimmy Sheirgill and Aamir Bhasin. Anupam and Naseer, two brilliant actors, paly the lead role in the movie. An edge-of-the-seat action-thriller, ‘A Wednesday’ is one of those rare films that you don’t want to describe to anyone after watching it, lest it spoils the fun he/she will have by watching it. It is a movie that is sure to acquire a cult status.

The best part of ‘A Wednesday’ is that it is much differ, nt from a usual Bollywood ‘masala’ movies, where the main protagonist fights the battle alone and still, wins it. No cinematic liberties have been taken and the script is as close to the reality as possible. Even the minutest of details have been taken into consideration and this is what lends more credibility to the movie. The screenplay is excellent and the characters have been etched beautifully, bringing out the essence, but saving the unnecessary probe into the past.

Akshay Kumar (Tusshar Kapoor), a crime reporter, Mr. Joshi (Anupam Kher), a retired accountant trying to deal with his ungrateful son, and Lambodar (Rajpal Yadav) are friends.

These three share their plight with one another and find solace in each others company.On one occasion, they play a harmless prank to tackle their problems. One thing leads to another, and before they realise, the incident becomes news.

But things don't stop there. They put their new found fame to good use, and this in turn triggers off a series of incidents, which propel them to such heights that the three become the talk of the nation.

There's a delicate balance between portraying a genuinely touching story and going overboard with emotions. And that's where Global One Studio Productions' Raman Thediya Seethai (Rama's Hunt for Seetha), directed by K P Jagannath, manages to be different. Moserbaer's Tamil production has actually managed to hit the bull's-eye with this one.

The first few scenes themselves set the tone; first, a hesitant and bashful Venugopal (Cheran) trying desperately to carry on an interesting conversation with a prospective bride Ranjitha (Vimala Raman), in her picturesque home in Nagercoil.

The conversation proceeds quite well in the beginning, until it hits an unexpected snag -- Venu was hospitalised for extreme stress during his school years; he still stammers as the result of the strain, and when he's unexpectedly put into stressful situations. Ranjitha, unimpressed with the story, rejects him..................................

Bindra booked his place in the 2008 Olympics by winning the gold medal at the 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championships with a score of 699.1

At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Abhinav Bindra won the gold for the Men's 10m Air Rifle final after shooting a total of 700.5. He scored 596 (fourth) in the qualifying round and out-scored all other shooters in the finals with a round of 104.5. In the finals, he started with a shot of 10.7, and none of his shots were below 10.0. Bindra was tied with Henri Häkkinen heading into his final shot. Bindra scored his highest of the finals - 10.8 while Hakkinen came with 9.7 to settle for Bronze medal. Again, Abhinav Bindra won the gold in spite of his gun being allegedly fiddled with. The winning of the gold with the last shot hitting the bulls eye (10.8 points) only proved to show, how good a shooter Abhinav is.

This was India's first individual gold medal at the Olympics, and the first gold in 28 years, since the Men's Field Hockey team won the gold at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Bindra was rewarded by various Indian state governements and private organizations for his achievement. These include the state governments of Punjab - Rs 10 million (approx. $250,000), Harayana - Rs 2.5 million,[17] Maharashtra - Rs 1 million, Karnataka - Rs 1 million, Tamil Nadu - Rs 0.5 million,[20] Madhya Pradesh - Rs 0.5 million and Chattisgarh - Rs 0.5 million. Other organization that rewarded Bindra includes Chandigarh civic administration - Rs 0.5 million,[17] BCCI - Rs 2.5 million, Indian Railways - lifelong free pass for Bindra & one companion in First AC, Spicejet Airways - lifelong free flight ticket to Bindra[21] and Samsung - Rs 2 million and Bihar Government Rs.1.1 million

Dasavatharam: The movie begins with King Kulothunga of Tanjore played by Napoleon loosing the war. Frustrated by this mockery, he throws the statue of a goddess into the sea. In the same town, lives an ordinary old man who is an atheist. Though he has no faith in God, he is the one to hop and take hold of statue that is thrown into the sea…

The story immediately shifts to 21st century from 12th century and we have a foreigner tracing the same statue with the group of CIA agents among whom Malikka Sherawat is the one. In Chennai, it’s a police cop to tries save the statue from the clutches of foreigners. So how does one of the Kamal along with the help of Asin gets back the statue forms the crux of story. Gautham Subramanyiam (Ravi) is a well educated, handsome hunk of a Doctor family. Since, his father and mother are doctors; Gautham aims to become a doctor and achieves it. Gautham gets a golden opportunity to go to Russia to represent India in a week long doctor’s conference.

Gautham is delighted to receive this offer and packs his bags to fly to Russia. Meanwhile, Gautham’s beloved is introduced on the frame which happens to be Shenba (Kangana). Shenba happens to be the same village girl in which his sister resides and so they two meet and fall in love. Gautham’s parents agree to the marriage and as a happy man Gautham is ready to marry Shenba after his return to India from his Russia trip.

Finally, the journey to Russia happens and the hero reaches Moscow and completes his immigration procedures. Incidentally, Gautham meets Anna (Maria) and unknowingly the sexy lady drops her jacket at the hero. In a quickie situation the hero has no time to return the jacket and exits from the Moscow airport accompanied by his medical team.
Gautham is flabbergasted by the roads and buildings of the city and is surprised to see the city of Moscow from his hotel view. Gautham learns that the only hiccup with Russians
Is that the people are ignorant about the English language and the whole conversation with them must be made in Russian national language.

Fortunately, one fine day, Gautham discovers Anna and takes the prospect to return her coat. The two gel together well and part the ways. Meanwhile, Gautham medical conference takes place successfully and in order to celebrate its success the whole team head to a club. Gautham bumps into Anna in the night club and they two have a gala time in the club. Anna, due to heavy consumption of Liquor, intoxicates and the hero has no other choice than to accompany her to her room.

When the two reach Anna’s apartment in they settle down and sleep. Gautham is brutally dragged onto the floor by a Russian police officer the next day morning and the reason is that Anna is murdered on her sofa.

Suddenly the whole world around Gautham changes in a flash. He gets abused, accused and is jailed by the cops. The language, people and the surroundings are totally new and confusing to the hero. Fortunately at this time Arthi Chinappa (Lakshmi Rai) is appointed as a defendant lawyer to the culprit Gautham. The Indian consulate sends jayaram to Gautham rescue. Aarthi falls in love with Jayam Ravi, but suppresses her feelings when she learns about Shenba

The rest of the story revolves around how the hero is proved t be innocent? Who killed Maria and for what cause. A mix of Chases, death experiences, conspiracies and many more are the ingredients form the climax of the movie.

Forecasts for caravan and leisure retailer Discover Leisure's busier second half-year have been downgraded following a bout of tough trading. Turnover for the half year to 2 March was up a mammoth 412% to £51.8m, on the back of two motor home retail business acquisitions last July. Fixed costs and the seasonal dip in first-half sales produced a pre-tax loss of £1.8m (2007: £0.7m), although the loss per share was reduced from 1.57p to 0.85p.
Discover Leisure's overall strategy, according to chief executive Trevor Parker, an experienced motor industry man, is to create a broad-based leisure group with diversified offerings across the sector. He plans to develop the Discover brand and grow its accessories and services divisions through 'more effective and attractive' retail outlets and a newly launched website that has already turned over £2m.



Parker is adamant about the 'exceptional' strength of the group, backed up by an estimated property portfolio of £40m, over three times Discover Leisure's market cap. He is content with house broker Panmure Gordon's downgraded £2m profit before tax estimate for the year, which he insists would still be a 'credible result'.
Trading is uneven moving into the summer period and the share price is reflecting this unease. Based on downgraded earnings for the September year-end, reduced from 1.5p to 0.9p, Discover Leisure trades on a prospective multiple of only 7.4 times. Though the group faces a gloomy retail climate, given its property asset-backing and targeting of demographics less susceptible to recession, such as the comfortably retired, there's no point in selling now. Sit tight.
