Singh is Kinng Story

Singh Is Kinng, the most keenly awaited romantic comedy of 2008, revolves around a gang of crooks transformed by a good man and his selfless love for a pretty girl Lakhan Singh aka Lucky (Sonu Sood) is the ‘king’ of the Australian underworld accompanied by his associates (played by Javed Jaffrey, Neha Dhupia, Manoj Pahwa, Yashpal Sharma, Kamal Chopra and Sudhanshu Pande.) Far away, in a small village in Punjab, where Lucky was born, there exists someone more notorious than him Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar). The village is fed up of his magnanimity, which has resulted in a number of hilariously disastrous situations.

Out of desperation, they decide to send him on a long trip (that will keep him out of the village for a while!) to bring Lucky back to Punjab, as his despicable deeds were maligning their image in Australia. The happy-go-lucky bumpkin, taking his mission a bit too seriously, embarks on his journey accompanied by his friend, Tony Singh (Om Puri), who hates Happy for dragging him into it.

The high point of his journey is his chance meeting with Sonia (Katrina Kaif) with whom he falls in love, but upon reaching his destination, things take a precarious turn as he runs into a series of comic misadventures, leaving him penniless. He is fortunate to find warmth and affection in an elderly lady (Kirron Kher) who helps him meet Lucky. In a strange turn of events, an attempt on Lucky?s life is foiled by a well-intentioned Happy who fights off the attackers by risking his own life.

Following the hilarious altercation, Lucky lands up in hospital paralyzed, and Happy, unexpectedly, finds the tables turned on him when he is expected to assume the role of the new ?kinng?! The series of chaos, shocks and comic misunderstandings that ensue eventually result in redemption and an accidental wedding! “
From what the trailer offers, it looks like another Anees Bazmee’s Welcome.

I thought it would be a solid masala film with an emotional punch. SiK has the same type of silly-comic lines and goofy scenes. Anees Bazmee himself is from the David Dhawan school of movie-making. However David Dhawan’s older films had interesting storylines, it is only his later more recent films that he is making the please-leave-your-brains-behind-and-ask-no-questions type films. And Anees Bazmee follows Dhawan’s recent style of film making

Watch Mumbai Meri Jaan Hindi Movie Online(2008)

Mumbai Meri Jaan Story

5 lead characters. 5 parallel lives. all intertwined into one being. the city they live in - Mumbai. yeh, dat seems the rite way to start. Like a documentary, though more interestin than it, but as real as if it is one. u go in th theatre thinkin about some same old shit about terorrism et al. I mean havent v seen dat before? wel u fill find dat, but there's somethin more to it. Emotions and other issues, from the eyes of a daily road travellin mumbaikar.

Its true u dont experience d real city in a/c cars or airports. Our roads r where our hearts lie unleashed and uncovered. The movie covers issues that we would want to run away from, dat if v saw these on tv, we would switch over to some other channel; as if it never happened; like gratifyingly covering the eyes with a pair of glossy glasses, that give a glossy picture. The scene where dead bodies lie scattered, right after the blast, haunts u even after its all gone; simply because we wouldnt have ever bothered to see those disturbing images in the comforts of our homes. Its not an allegation. Its the truth. Why go through the virtual trauma when it fails to even touch u in reality.

The simplicity hits so hard that u wonder y did u ever think it was simple, just a fact, jus like a statistic in the first place.. It shows how these 5 protaganists get affected by a comman incident - the 7 consecutive bomb blasts in the mumbai trains one after the other, n how they n the city deals with it.

Its about more. Its about potholes, police and their bribes and the fight they go through with their conscience if they want to fight the age-old ritual (read: the ritual of bribes, which if one policeman opposes has a harder time, than the one who is being following it since years without questions or doubts n livin a happy man.)

Its about news reporters and what ridiculously preposterous questions they can come up with seconds after a disaster hits the common man, the bizarreness of which they realise only they unfortuantely have to face one. Its about the comman mumbaikar, with an average paycheck, with no inkling of the inflation, is awed by the sudden change in the face of mumbai; the mall culture and the treatment the city gives to his likes (all in the packaging people..u dont look presentable enough? no 10 grand monthly paycheck? Oh stay away from us. u dont belong here.) The comman man u see on the road when u travel, r.k. narayan's man who wonders where he fits in with his little family in this ever growing commercial concrete cosmopolitan jungle of people ridden by dreams.

Its about us. Its about people in this city who are constantly caught between the idea of workin here or settling abroad; of 'serving' ur nation back or of thinkin of ur own comforts firsts; of the moments when we wonder is it worth the risk of taking in the stress of the long commuting hours, the roads, the bribery, the people. Its about people who still look at other people of certain religion with a doubt, which we do considering our past experiences and fears. Its about those thousand times that we have argued with our friends in favour or against our city; if it will ever improve, or whether it even has a need to improve........................................

Movie 1920
Hindi Movie 1920 Story
Vikram Bhatt’s horror movie ‘1920’ doesn’t leave you zombied. But it does scare you enough to have a few sweaty, sleepless hours when you hit the bed at night.

The movie derives its title from the year it’s set in, when huge mansions (in present-day Yorkshire) stood tall on the suburbs of Mumbai and horse-drawn carriages plied on dusty grounds carrying dandy men in suits and women in Victorian gowns and hats. Sadly, there aren’t any buxom ladies in tight corsets here. Rajneesh Duggal plays Arjun, an architect, and Adah Sharma plays his catholic wife, Lisa.

The couple, wedded despite parental disapproval, arrives at a haveli that the suave architect plans to convert into a hotel as his big project. The only trouble is – the haveli is haunted by a spirit that eventually possesses Lisa.

Even as the girl transforms from a beautiful bride to a withered zombie that talks in multiple voices and levitates in bed, the guy doesn’t run away but stands beside her, his love unshaken, until he finds a way to exorcise her of the demonic spirit.

Plotwise, ‘1920’ doesn’t offer anything remarkably novel or nightmarish. It abounds with clichés that collage any typical horror film – a large, empty and dimly-lit mansion with huge portraits staring down ominously at its audience. Or its rich architecture that glistens through the shifting shadows. Or a lantern-carrying housekeeper with mysterious facial expressions. Despite this, the film works to an extent because Vikram Bhatt holds it tight until the very climax.

The director lays the ground in the first half and shoots up the scare-quotient in the second half considerably enough for you to feel a full bladder mid-way through your carbonated drink. The film also works because its actors, Rajneesh Duggal and Adah Sharma, deliver credible performances in aptly-suited roles. Adah’s blanched complexion particularly makes her well-suited to play a possessed girl. Raj Zutsi as the scowling priest is too stilted.

The music is quite evocative except the Rakhi Sawant number which stands out like a sore thumb in this sufficiently spooky tale.

The Last Lear Story
Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal, Shefali Shah, Divya Dutta and Jishu Sengupta, this is one movie that can be considered to a speciality one. Aparna Sen's style of direction has been applied here in the most effective manner for a movie. It gives one the feeling that they are watching a Shakespeare drama on a screen and I am saying this from my own experience in not just studying some of the bard's dramas, but also having acted in one many years back.

The director has taken all the efforts in portraying the characters in the rightful manner related to a Shakespeare drama that unfolds and does not have a dull moment ever. What made this movie so interesting besides the Shakespeare side of it, is that its starts off from an intriguing and inquisitive point and then through the back flashes everything unfolds. This is not a typical Bollywood style movie with songs and a dance troupe or with all sorts of glitz and glamour but it is a simple story, which is enjoyable for those who enjoy Shakespearean style acting.....

ALibaba

Watch Tamil Movie Alibaba online

Alibaba Story
A lot of hype surrounded 'Alibaba' since it is the maiden venture of Krishna, brother of director Vishnuvardhan, as hero. The young lad has lived up to all expectations coming up with a neat portrayal managing to leave a mark as an action hero.

Produced by Krishna's father 'Pattiyal' Sekhar and directed by Neelam G Sekar, 'Alibaba' has an interesting story with sudden twists and turns. However the director seems to have beaten around the bush especially towards the climax.

All credit to the director for choosing to do an action-film in Kollywood sans the regular commercial clichés. It is the story of a youth, who gets into tough situations for no fault of his. How he bails himself out of a crunch situation forms the climax.

Krishna, who resembles his brother, is cool and suave in the film. His body language and mannerisms suit the role well. He manages to fight well but needs to work out his portrayal in emotional sequences. Janani fails to pass the muster as she looks quite ordinary on screen. The on-screen chemistry between the lead pair is unfortunately missing.

The movie boasts of some big stars like Thilakan, Biju menon and director Azhagam Perumal. Prakashraj has performed in such a way that he hogs the limelight despite featuring only in a few scenes. The seasoned actor has taken away with him all the charm and grace in the film. As a loving father, he gives the movie the necessary pep.

Velu (Krishna) helps his father Subramaniam (Prakashraj) in stealing. Being seasoned thieves, they rob everything right from pins to cars. A spate of young women are murdered and these developments rock the city. A tough cop (Azhagarperumal) investigates the case. However differences of opinions crop between the Police Commissioner (Biju menon) and the policeman over the enquiry.

One day Velu saves the Commissioner from meeting his end and gets acquainted with him. Velu then begins to fall for a girl named Janani (Janani), who works in a bank. One day when Velu withdraws money he is shocked to find the balance amount to be Rs. Five Lakhs. It suddenly swells to Rs 30 lakh and reaches Rs 70 lakh.

Velu's father comes to his rescue and manages to find the reason behind it. When the family begins to find out the reason behind this act, it results in bloodshed and gore eventually ending up in Velu coming across the killers of young women in the city.

The narration is engrossing as the suspicion needle falls on everyone until the climax. The debutant director has weaved the screenplay intelligently, but seems to be in a hurry with its execution. Vidyasagar's tunes are pedestrian.

Had the second half been made in a more interesting fashion the director could have managed to sustain momentum until the end and ended up hitting the bull's eye.

Saroja Brief Story

The journey of four friends with different natures - Ajay (Shiva), Ganesh Kumar (Premji Amaran), Jagapathi Babu (SPB Charan) and Ram Babu (Vaibhav Reddy) - to Hyderabad gets stuck due to an accident and hence they seek to find a different route to Hyderabad. The effort turns out to be a nightmare of sorts and the friends get caught in serious danger. In the process, they get to see a girl in deep trouble and try to save her. How they save themselves and the girl with their presence of mind and luck form the rest of the story.
Venkat Prabhu, with able support from music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, editors Praveen K. L and Srikanth N. B, and cinematographer Sakthi Saravanan, tells you the story in a different manner. The first hour of the movie is narrated in two parallel lines - one telling the fun filled journey and the other dealing with the kidnapping of a school girl Saroja (new comer Vega) - is quite different and refreshing. While the first half deals with tensed scenes revolving around the kidnap drama and the funny journey of the friends, the second half narrates the dangerous sequences involving the hunt and escape. Venkat Prabhu has amazing hold on the proceedings through out the movie...................
