Dhoni Was unhappy with Selectors-quit captaincy?

Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni offered to step down from the captaincy after his alleged clash with the selectors over pacer RP Singh's exclusion from the squad against England.

According to the reports, Dhoni wanted RP Singh in the team for the next two ODIs, while selectors wanted Irfan Pathan. Though at the end, selectors had their way and Pathan was chosen ahead of the UP pacer.

If reports are to be believed, the selection meeting in Kanpur, which was to last for 5 mins lasted for over 30 mins and the proceedings of the stormy session has been leaked to 'Anandbazar Patrika'.

K Srikkant, the chairman of the selection committee, told Dhoni that RP was out of form so there was no point in having him in the national team and he should play some domestic cricket.

Dhoni, known to back his players, was unhappy with this move and offered to resign. He reportedly said 'then you can look for another captain'.

The selectors complained to the BCCI secretary N Srinivasan that they deserved a little more respect from the captain.

The matter was then escalated to BCCI President Shashank Manohar, who intervened and said a team should not be built on the basis of individual preferances and no one was indispensible.

The Indian players are currently in Bangalore to play the fourth match.

Aegan Movie Review :

Shiva (Ajith) is a stunning cop and you can get it well known with his introduction scene in Hong Kong. Being a mighty person, he shatters down the mafia chief with no efforts. His step-father Karthik (Nasser), police commissioner says- “He is a one-man army, who trusts only his gun”. Wow! That’s what is revealed throughout the intro parts. But then, the story slowly transcends into fun loving ambience.

This begins when Siva is offered to accomplish a different mission – that is about trapping an international criminal John Chinnapa (Suman), whose eyes are fixed on killing his former team member Ram Prasad (Devan) as he turns into a police approver.

Ram is in hiding somewhere in Ooty where his daughter Priya (Piaa) is studying in St. John’s College. As an undercover agent, he has to enter the college as a student of developing friendliness with Piyaa and trapping her father’s locations.

Soon as Shiva joins the college, we have whole lots of new characters introduced; a mirthful principal (Jayaram) and a navy guy (Sathyan) and group of students including Priya’s lover Narain (Navdeep), later about whom it is revealed that he is Siva’s step-brother.

Of course, for the greatest excitement, we have alluring professor Mallika (Nayanthara) and Siva falling in love at first sight.

Rest of the film is about grand fiestas of extreme fun, dance, song, action, romance, emotions and more.

As mentioned earlier, Thala rocks throughout the film with his surprising show. The most ever best part that would make non-fans of Ultimate star applaud more is where he sings ‘Unnai Partha Pinbu Naan’ from Kadhal Mannan as he sings at Nayanthara. The stunts scenes at the introduction part are marvelous and mind blowing as he looks similar to Al Pacino. But, it looks a magical transcendence as he goes slim in the following scenes. His dancing steps in ‘Hey Saala’ and ‘Odum Varayil’ are scintillating.

Nayanthara as gorgeous missy steals the show with her half-saris and sleeveless blouse. Jayaram and Haneefa stride with excellent comedy tracks while Suman goes perfect as a comedy villain and his combo with Sriman are rib-trickling. Nasser and Suhasini do justice to their role and ditto to Navdeep and Piyaa.

Musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja offers more strength to the film and same credit for cinematographer Arjun Jena for capturing best exotic locations of Ooty. Punch dialogues are matching for the Thala and goes hand in with the film…

On the whole, Aegan is a thriller packed action comedy with commercial elements. It’s not just for Thala fans, but a film to watch and enjoyed by everyone for the festive occasion.

Hindi Movie Heroes Story Review

What we have here is a very good story idea; what is lacking is proper cinematic treatment. End result; what could have been an applause worthy effort, just about manages to pass muster thanks in the main to the brilliance in between. Another thing that could have worked for the film is if the editor, Sanjay Sankla, could have edited 30 unnecessary minutes. In short, a missed opportunity of having the nation in a trance with the focus on our jawans on the border.

The first 30 minutes have you wondering what the film is all about. In between, you try to figure out where the film is heading. Sohail Khan and Vatsal Sheth are two dudes who love to live life out of their classroom. So on graduation day they realize they are the only two to have failed, and as a result have to submit a film to get their degree. This leads them on to an idea (which germinates in a scene shot in a swimming pool) why one should not join the army.

One of their girlfriends suggests that her cousin who is a war journalist could help them. He does, because before the movie began they showed him (Mohnish Behl) interviewing jawans and each of them (Salman Khan, Bobby Deol and Dino Morea) gave him a letter. These are the very letters he gives the twosome to help them in their project. It helps to know that the letters were written in 1999, the same time the Kargil war was in force.

Let's come to the story of the jawans (which the film is all about) later. What the director Samir Karnik was trying to establish in the first 30 minutes is the uselessness of the ideology of these two blokes. This, I believe could have been smartly done within five minutes, thus shortening the agony for the viewers. Also, the Mithun shots could have done away with as the two had come to a realization..........

Drona Movie Story Review

Fantasy films are rare in Bollywood. But, by making a film like ‘Drona’ Goldie Behl has took a courageous step. However, the screen play is a mess.

The writers Jaydeep Sarkar, Rohini Killough and Goldie Behl fails to make an impact by their work.

And what’s more disappointing is that a lot has been spent on the movie to give it a different look. Everything went on perfect but,the more than story of ‘Drona’ it’s the visual effects that makes it unforgettable. Its like a dining table all set with the best crockery but, no food in it.

Drona is a tale of a boy named Aditya (Abhishek Bachchan) who has never known love and is brought up by a family where all he gets to know is taunts and humiliations. As he grows up enters a evil wizard Riz Raizada( Kay Kay Menon), an adherent of Asuras. He wishes the secret ‘Amrit’ but, to get it he has to defeat Drona. Now the problem arises is that he is not aware, who is Drona.

A day comes when Aditya and Riz face each other and Riz notices the ‘kada’ in Aditya’s hand and recognizes him as Drona. Knowing this Riz men begin chasing him but, he is saved by Sonia (Priyanka Chopra) who makes Afitya realize of his true identity –‘Drona’.

Sonia takes Aditya to his birth place where he meets his mother, Queen Jayati (Jaya Bachchan). Here he gets to know more about himself and his family. But, once again Riz army catch up with him and from here begins the Drona’s journey.

Drona is also high at special effects . Sameer Arya’s cinematography and Tania Behl’s production design is good.Abhishek Bachchan has done a good job. Priyanka is equally good . Kay Kay is not that impressive. Jaya Bachchan’s has been impressive but the only flaw is she has less footage in the movie.

On whole, the movie lacks content. At box-office the movie may get a good response with its opening but, as the initial days will pass its fall is for sure.

Golmaal Returns Movie Review
The story goes like this, Ajay Devgan, who plays the role of Gopal, is married to Ekta aka Kareena Kapoor. Gopal suffers from her wife’s continuous unscrupulous ways of suspecting him as she is obsessed with Ekta Kapoor’s K-serials.

The protagonist of the movie is shown caught up in a situation where he has to accidentally spend a night with a girl (Celina Jaitely), and tries to cover this up with a spoof of lies in front of his wife.

Although it undeniably shows resemblance, taking the take off plot from the original old flick in the starting yet the writer tries to include a murder mystery in it giving it a different look though he fails in it as the script seems to be written at the very spot.

The other actors in the lead such as Arshad Warsi plays the character of an inspector, who suspects Gopal being the culprit behind the murder and Shreyas Talpade as Laxman Prasad , Gopal’s office subordinate, who helps his colleague.
Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade manage to tickle the audiences with the perfect timing of their witty humour, while usage of lame jokes by other characters undermines the movie.

The film also tries to give an insight into the old characters such as Sharaman Joshi and Vrajesh Hirjee’s serpentine act. The film takes forward its legacy of 'Black comedy' and also adds Bhansali's Saawariya to the spoof-list. The humour varies from superior to slapdash variety ranging from subtle satire on Saif-Kareena tattoos to the overstated Ekta Kapoor soap spoofs.

Ajay, Tusshar and Shreyas manage to save the act somehow with their acting skills, but on the whole the movie falls short to be appreciated and worth watching

Most of the shooting of the film "Dostana" is done in Miami is known worldwide for its beach parties. The film "Dostana" is an examination of friendship, fun on the beach and romance in which actors pretend they are gay friends. Hellow Movie Review

Review: Hello; Movie Cast: Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sharman Joshi, Katrina Kaif, Eesha Koppikhar, Gul Panag and Amrita Arora; Director: Atul Agnihotri; Rating: 3 out of 5.

As everyone knows, Hello is based on author Chetan Bhagat’s bestseller One Night @ The Call Center which is based on the BPO industry. Atul Agnihotri has tried to touch a new subject roping in all the essential commercial values successfully. The storyline is intriguing which opens through the views of the protagonist Shyam (Sharman Joshi). The blend of shattered ambitions and how people lose their love has been weaved well.

The story shows a lot of love and affection in a family comprising of mother and daughter Priyanka (Gul Panag). Mother believes that her daughter should get married to a rich NRI so that she does not have to face the poverty and hardships which the mother had to go through. Hence she refutes the proposal from Shyam.

On the other hand, Esha (Eesha Koppikhar) shuns her family and lives alone to achieve her motto of making big in the fashion world. The story unfolds showing how she falls prey to a man who promises her to crown in the pageant. In the meantime, Varun Malhotra (Sohail Khan) tries different ways to vow Esha who, initially, refuses to budge but at the end realises his sincere love.

Also Radhika (Amrita Arora) who has to try hard working at both the places, at home during the day and at the call centre during night, is at the receiving end. She is always depressed after she comes to know that her hubby Arbaaz Khan is having an extra marital affair. So she starts ingesting tablets to fight depression.

In another instance, Sharad Saxena is in awe with his grandson who lives in America but is not allowed by his son to interact with him. He terribly misses his grandson. The story unveils the ethos of each character in the globalised office. Also how these five characters teach a lesson to their Boss Subhash Bakshi (Dalip Tahil) and disclose the truth to their employer in America and how in the climax god gives a call to all of them and everything is put straight is worth watching.

Hello is Agnihotri’s second project. His directorial debut Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha was proved a dud at the box office in 2004.But this film has a lot of potential. Agnihotri has tried to cast each character judiciously. He has also aptly portrayed Salman and Katrina who narrates the story to Sallu and gives him two options to end the film. While leaving after the narration, Agnihotri, in a sleek manner, reveals that she was not from this globe. The comical and serious blend of dialogues written by Chetan Bhagat rightly arouses seriousness and laughter bouts.

The filmmaker’s attempt to strive incessantly to revive the culture of our country to the commercial entity, ie, America, and promoting the feeling of India being the best will surely be appreciated by the audiences.

Although the music is mediocre, it keeps you fresh. Prolific cinematography is soothing to the eyes. Nothing more could be added or chopped on the edit table. The length of the film seems sufficient and justifies itself.

Hello, being from the family hailing from Bollywood, evidently depicts its conscious and joint efforts to make the film a success by not leaving any stone unturned.
